About our pre-kindergarten program
At Riverside Daycare, we offer a Pre-Kindergarten program specifically designed to prepare children aged 4 to 5 for their transition to school. Our program focuses on following directions, getting ready for school, and building a strong foundation in various subjects, including science.
Following Directions and Getting Ready for School:
We understand the importance of teaching children essential skills like following directions, self-care routines, and getting ready for school. Our experienced teacher's guide and support children in developing skills such as listening attentively, following instructions, organizing their belongings, and practicing self-help skills like dressing and self-care routines. These skills help children become more independent and confident as they prepare for the structure and expectations of school life.
Science and Long Span Learning:
Our Pre-Kindergarten program includes hands-on science activities and experiments to foster curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Through age-appropriate experiments and exploration, children develop an understanding of scientific concepts, engage in inquiry-based learning, and build a foundation for their future scientific knowledge. We believe in making science fun and exciting for children, sparking their interest in the world around them.
We also emphasize long-span learning, which means we focus on developing children's attention span, ability to concentrate and engage in more complex tasks. By gradually increasing the duration of activities and introducing more challenging tasks, we help children build their ability to focus and sustain their attention for longer periods.
At Riverside Daycare, we provide a nurturing and supportive environment where Pre-Kindergarten children can develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to succeed in school. Our goal is to inspire a love for learning, foster independence, and ensure a smooth transition to the next phase of their educational journey.
